Wonderful & Amazing Bees!
Ever since I was a small child I've had a fascination with bees. My mother still likes to tell the story of how I would try catching them in my play house and come running and crying to her that the "bees bite me."
Given the many obstacles that bees and all pollinators face today, I feel moved to become a bee guardian. There is a lot bees have to offer humans besides honey. I see having bees on our land as an opportunity to learn more about them and to help bees to thrive in tough times. Though bees fly miles away from their hives collecting nectar, on our land we have a diverse selection of forage for our bees to choose from, with different species blooming at various times to ensure there is an adequate food supply. Our bees are left with plenty of their own honey for the winter. No medications or sugar syrups are given and the methods used to extract the honey does not heat it so the honey retains all of its natural medicinal properties.
